 11/1/2009 Yankee太强了今天的world series很精彩，Phillies好不容易将比分追成4：4，决战第9局，Yankee作为客队压力很大。换上来pinch hit的Hideki Matsui被接杀，Derek Jeter被strike out，只剩下最后一个out了，关键时刻又是Johny Damon，在full count之后不断的foul ball，终于在第9个球的fast ball打出了一记一垒安打，接着又神奇得连偷2、3垒；接下来 Mark Teixeira被球击中保送上垒，A-Rod之前一直被诟病季后赛表现，他的RBI Double将比分反超——今年他可以正名了。Jorge Posada的2Run Single将比分优势扩大到三分。 九局下半，Yankee的closer Mariano Rivera上场，3分优势在手，这个工作也变得更加容易，Rivera干净利落得将Phillies的Matt Stairs, Jimmy Rollins, Victorino的球送到一垒的Mark Teixeira，正如昨天的第九局一样，异常得轻松。Yankee在先丢一场的情况下连扳三局，取得总比分3：1的优势，胜利在望。 10/30/2009 棒球投球 昨天的world series紧张有余，精彩不足，A－Rod持续低迷的表现。投手倒是大放异彩，继第一场crystal lee的完整比赛后，养鸡的AJ Burnet在其个人第一场季后赛也表现出色，甚至３８岁的 Pedro Martinez也在失利后得到不少赞许。投手有抢眼的表现，也许是因为养鸡体育馆是pitcher's park，回到费城则是另一回事。前一段还有记者yy落山鸡的两支棒球队，Angels和Dodgers会师总决赛，那就几乎没有主客场之说，可称为freeway series，现在变成纽约和费城，只能称为Amtrak Series了。两支队都是球星云急，养鸡的队长Derek Jeter算是纽约的标志，拿了好几个戒指，他跟费城球星Jimmy Rollins是美国国家队的队友。Pedro Martinez的change－up比较有名。

 Usually you'll want to place your middle finger on the inside a seam.
  And what you want to do is throw it like fast ball to here, where the elbow and arm form an L, with your arm perpendicular to the ground, and turn your hand in.
Slider
A slider is a pitch halfway between a curveball and a fastball.
Usually you have finger pressure on your middle finger, across the seam or on the seam.

10/19/2009 棒球英雄 我们为这一刻而活。We live or die for this.
很多人都说棒球是个慢节奏、无观赏性的运动，他们也许没有经历过金秋十月的职棒的淘汰赛。紧张、激烈，精彩纷呈。30支队伍，每个队162场的常规赛，最后8支队单淘汰，一个赛季的辛苦付出就在这一刻。
NBA季后赛经常上演压哨的game-winner，第四节的关键时刻，球星的价值越发体现出来，即使他此前N投不中，你还是将球交给你的球星，由他们来决定球队的生死。
棒球和篮球有所不同，篮球始终还是5对5的比赛，包夹和队友的错误往往是个限制因素，而棒球则经常是一对一的对决。当所有人的目光都集中在你的身上，当队友和球队的所有希望都寄托在你的这最后一击，这就是英雄诞生的时刻！我们这些球迷也为这一刻而激动和兴奋不已，抑或为这一刻而心碎。这一刻，也将镌刻在我们的脑海里，时时回味。
今天我去24 hr Fitness锻炼的时候，很幸运得目睹了这一时刻。正在进行的比赛是NLCS的第四场，Philies主场对阵Dodgers，此前三场Philies2:1领先。我开始关注比赛的时候已经是9局上半，Dodgers4:3领先，而且上到了一垒和二垒，Philies换了个Closer上来，没有让Dodgers扩大领先优势。Drama出现在9局下半，Dodgers的投手先是四坏球保送一个上垒，Philies马上Pinch Run换了一个跑垒员。接着投手扔球失误，击中对方球员又保送上垒，Philies的得分机会来了。但是接下来的击球手被三垒flied out，等Jimmy Rollins上场的时候，已经是两人出局，两人分别在一、二垒。关键的时刻到了，如果这个比分保持到终场，Dodgers将扳平总比分，更取得心理上的优势。
电光石火的瞬间（后记：Fast Ball，99mph），Jimmy Rollins将球击向右外垒的空档，二垒得分，一垒也冲向本垒，Philies的球员几乎同时也冲向本垒，Philies赢了！ 5：4！！整个球场沸腾了，主场球迷沸腾了，胜利的焰火绽放在球场的夜空。这一刻，英雄诞生了。这一刻，无数的Dodgers球迷心碎了。
这，就是棒球的魅力！
 10/17/2009 Red River Rivalry 每年得克萨斯州最重要的体育赛事是什么？——Texas和OU的红河大战。这是很有特色的一个比赛，因为比赛地点正是Texas State Fair的所在地，充满节日气氛；另外达拉斯正好在Austin和Norman的中间，对双方球迷很公平。比赛在达拉斯Fair Park的Cotton Bowl进行，Cotton Bowl虽然老旧，却写满历史，场地从正中间的50码处将两个学校的球迷分成两半，一半是OU的Crimson红，一半是Texas的Burnt Orange。
几年前我去过一次，还给Texas的啦啦队员拍了照，但是回来的时候发现车不见了，在拖车场折腾了好久交了罚金，郁闷得很。有了上次的经验，而且听说有专门开往Fair Park的专车，我决定坐轻轨过去。把车停到Mockingbird Station，列车开来的时候上面已经是接近满员，我挤了上去。大伙有说有笑，心情很轻松愉快，多日的阴雨之后终于迎来了难得的晴天。
OU的球迷很开心，他们喜欢来到德州支持他们的球队，喜欢啥呢？——“Football, beer, and Texas women”，车上的Longhorn女球迷心里暗骂，“什么东西！”，“Women, yeah”, 似乎察觉到这点，这位OU的球迷补充到“They are third on the list...”大伙转而莞尔。
看球的场面，一个是Fair Park外面的WalGreen停车场，一个是Fair Park里面球场边的大屏幕投影：

      球迷的装扮都很好看，不管是Texas还是OU，就象是个大派对。
 除了体育场里面的9万多人，球场边围观的球迷也是人山人海，虽然没有南方学校TailGate的传统，都是Deep Fried的食物、Corn Dog啊什么的，也算独树一帜了。场面很象是赶集，坐在大人脖子上的小球迷：

  而说起车，我喜欢的是在场边的Chevy跑车，变形金刚里的大黄蜂，Camaro2010：
 总的来说这次DART的轻轨的交通组织很成功，少了堵车和停车难的问题，不过在去往Fair Park的路上，轻轨多次停靠，延误了很长时间，比赛的前一个多小节我们都是在车厢里面不安得度过。Cotton Bowl与红河大战比赛的合同一直签到2015年，我由衷希望球赛的组织者能顺应民意，不要将这个赛事搬到Jerry的新体育馆，把这个一年一度的传统发扬和保持下去。

Once there, they participate against each other in a football scrimmage, with the winner taking home a rivalry trophy and bragging rights. 10/1/2009 Longhorn Recruiting One thing I don't like their recruiting is that the players are almost all from the state of Texas. Texas is BIG and has good athletes but that's boring! Here is the comparison:

2010 Recruits: 22 Commits(6 ESPN 150 Commits), 9 from Louisiana, 4 from Texas, 1 from Virginia, 2 from Mississippi, 1 from Tennessee, 1 from Ohio, 2 from Georgia, 2 from Alabama 9/25/2009 This one is for Detroit 棒球队Detroit Tigers上赛季还是倒数第一，今年常规赛接近尾声的时候，已经变成AL Central的领头羊，季后赛指日可待。这有点象飓风后的路易斯安娜，在人们生活艰难的时候，体育给了他们精神寄托和慰籍，而球队也深感自己的重任，士气大振。球队和城市的命运是息息相关的，困难让他们变得更为团结，风雨同舟，这种精神力量是强大的。达拉斯的球队就很缺这种精神。
 赛季初底特律失业率高达23％（现在已经高达29％），经济大萧条令城市平均房价跌破$12,000。教练Jim Leyland对他的球员说：“People are going to spend some of their last dollars to come to these games, and we need to give them our best effort. This is not the year not to run out a ground ball. ”
球员三垒手Inge说， "We know there are families in the stands who are fighting to keep their houses and feed their kids," "We take that seriously."
Tigers球场的喷泉很重要，每次主队得分的时候都会在球场开花，上赛季末的时候通用汽车没钱再赞助这个喷泉，有公司出上百万赞助费，不过球队老板最终还是决定，将GM的名字留下，两边再加上Ford和Chrsyler，并写上字样：“THE DETROIT TIGERS SUPPORT OUR AUTOMAKERS”.
 今年MSU输掉了NCAA男篮决赛，冰球队Red Wings在Stanley Cup总决赛的第七场折戟，人们的希望重新落在了这个棒球队身上。
相对于那些丢了工作，丢了房子的球迷，球队的球员和教练的收入要高很多，他们也明白这些球迷的付出：“I know how much it costs for that ticket and beer and hot dog, It's tough for these people. You can tell. You can feel it.”
让我们祝愿Tigers打进季后赛，并且在季后赛走得更远。 8/16/2009 Let's go, Rangers!! 千年阿斗Rangers這賽季終于有了些起色，一度在AL West領跑，現在雖然仍落後Angels蠻多，但還是在季后賽的門檻上，與Wild Card的領先者Boston Red Sox競爭激烈，因此這幾天的系列賽對Rangers來説尤爲重要。本賽季Rangers在Red Sox身上取了不少分，在之前的系列賽中客場在Boston兩勝一負，主場則3連勝橫掃；這周末則是本賽季與波士頓的第三個系列賽。
首場Rangers在2：0領先的情況下第九局被逆轉，昨天則以7：2完勝，從而把與Red Sox的差距縮小為1/2場。今天是決定系列賽的Rubber Game。
昨天Rangers穿的是我喜歡的紅色隊服，有點復古味道，84年Rangers也曾穿過紅色。
可喜的是，Rangers的一些新人昨天表現得很不錯，這些人上賽季都還是在小聯盟 Double A。包括：
Julio Borbon（lead off, 4 for 5 and 4 steals）和Elvis Andrus（3 for 4 and 3 steals）加起來有七次擊打和七次盜壘。首發投手Derek Holland表現不錯，投手Neftali Feliz取得了職業生涯第一場save。
P.S. 紅襪有三個日本投手，今晚出場的是Junichi Tazawa #63。還有Takashi Saito #24,老將，主要是收関。紅極一時的Daisuke(Dice-K) #18則在60天的Disabled List上。

6/22/2009 Fight a good fight 今天是冠军赛的第一场，梦幻的配对，Texas是个传统强队，70岁的教练拿过5次全国冠军。到达酒吧的时候，已经是第二个inning，LSU 1：0领先，不过Texas的投手Chance Ruffin很强，今天lsu也不在状态，接二连三Strike Out, 最后10个K，可以说完全压住了LSU的进攻。LSU的头号投手Coleman今天表现一般，球速挺快，不过缺乏变化，都是Fast Ball为主，而Texas也改变战略，本来他们是以small ball为强项，但是头两局LSU的防守出色，没有觅得机会，于是Texas狂搞本垒打，球借风势，加上Rosenblatt的小球场，一个接一个Home Run，这边只见Coleman不断擦汗，不过他还算镇静，坚持了大约7局。当Texas 3:1领先的时候，我们的全国橄榄球冠军球员Wide Receiver--Jared Mitchell出场了，不愧是大联盟首轮选秀，块头大，速度也快，当时一垒、三垒各有一个LSU球员，一个球打到右外场，只见Mitchell狂奔向三垒，最后猛得一跃，Two Run Triple！！！LSU士气大振。不过Texas马上得了一分，4：3领先，由于一些别的事情，我只能先行离开。不过这球看得真是惊心动魄。谁说棒球不好看？？
赶回来看球的时候，发现LSU已经4：6落后，当时已经是7局上半，双方陷入拉锯战。在7局下半的时候，另一个LSU的橄榄球员Chad Jones(Safety)走向投手Mount，和Mitchell一样，他们都是身兼两项，而且在07年夺得了橄榄球的全国冠军，他们这次，是冲着双料冠军来的！Mitchell刚才已经得了关键的两分，得过全国冠军的经历对这些球员有很大帮助，让他们不惧任何对手，这也是他们表现出色的原因，所以教练让Chad Jones上场，Jones扔了一个Inning，虽然旋转差点，不过球速足够快，块头大、气势足，最后圆满完成任务。
转眼间就到了9局上半，LSU还落后2分，眼看球赛就要输掉，Mitchell被gound out，Ochinko上了一垒，Texas马上把他们的左手投手Austin Wood换下，换上他们的Closer--Jungmann，但是这个Reliever表现不佳，连扔坏球，一会就保送了一名LSU球员，这时候LSU垒上已经有两人，接着Jungmann又扔了两个坏球，Texas见势不妙，马上又换投手，结果Strike Out了一个，这时候LSU只剩下最后一个Out了，LeMahieu双腿半蹲，准备充分，将球击向左外野，一垒、二垒接连得分，比分6：6，扳平了！！！接着Schimpf被故意保送，LSU垒上两人，下一个是DH Blake Dean，可惜Dean没把握机会，虽然击中球，不过不到本垒打的距离，flied out。
由于是Texas主场，所以他们还有机会直接赢下比赛，LSU也换上了Closer--Matty Ott，我已经结帐，不过小姐过来得很慢，我看了一半，看看球，再看看表，决定走人，要不会出人命...
与老婆回来，总想按今天的局面，LSU凶多吉少。不过能在第9局扳平，我已经甚感欣慰，不管最后的结果如何，他们努力了，fight a good fight，就没有遗憾，win or lose，我们都能接受。
回来打开ESPN首页，比赛还没结束！马上看360的转播，已经第10局，比赛还在僵持。第11局的时候，LeMahieu保送上垒，接着两个出局，看来比赛暂时没有结束的倾向，Texas本赛季有接连打到25局的记录...这时候LSU开始赌博了，LeMahieu尝试盗垒，Texas的接球手C Rupp虽然进攻很强，防守还是稍弱，加上比赛的劳累，扔给二垒的球稍微往右偏了一点，SAFE!!接着Rupp的失误又让LeMahieu上到三垒，随着时间推移，LSU渐渐占据上风，Mahtook的Single RBI让LSU7比6反超，YEAH！！！11局下半，轮到LSU防守，Matty Ott表现十分出色，好几个球都是眼看出了strike zone，又弧线擦了回来，接连扔出局两个，为LSU保住了胜果。
总结这场比赛，一切都掉了个个，以small ball闻名的Texas打了5个本垒打，赛季上百个本垒打的LSU靠小球和对方失误把比分追上，Texas以前多次上演反败为胜的好戏，这次轮到LSU后来居上，反败为胜。 这是一场精彩的比赛，11局的苦战，双方拚尽全力，Mahtook抽筋后进行静脉注射接着上场，精神可嘉。LSU连续第14场的胜利，三局两胜制的系列赛，我们已经占得了先机，好戏还在后头。最后感谢老婆的支持，UT是你的学校，不过你还是给了我很多支持，让我有机会看到这场精彩的冠军决战。

- Bringing in lefty Chad Jones may have been the key to the game. Texas completely lost it's momentum when the strong safety took the mound -- especially when he blitzed from the far side of the mound to cover first base, and showed off his awesome speed and agility.
- Sending Jones to the mound to start the eighth and face lefty DH Russell Moldenhauer (3-for-3, 2 HR). This "forced" Texas to pinch hit for its clean-up hitter who had punished the Tigers for two solo homers. - Bringing in RHP Paul Bertuccini to replace Jones after the pinch hitter was announced. Not only did Texas lose Moldenhauer, but they were forced to burn 47-game starter Tant Shepherd before he even saw a pitch. Texas sent Kevin Lusson to the plate, and he drew a walk before Bertuccini got three straight outs to end the threat. - Sending RHP Matty Ott to the mound in a tie game in the ninth -- and letting him pitch three innings. Though this may have been a little more obvious, using Ott against a team that hit five homers off Louis Coleman fastballs was a little bit of a risk. Three shutout innings later, it was perfect. ******************************************************************************* 6/11/2009 飞向"甲子园" NBA总决赛正如火如荼，不过有时候七场制的比赛真令人生厌，再加上这样那样的丑闻、对明星的吹捧或者棒杀，体育已经不那么纯洁. 在很没有必要的情况下，球员的单打独斗(比如湖人打得超烂的几场), 裁判的偏袒, 都让人觉得这是个娱乐的show而已。近日围绕着Cowboys10亿新体育馆的停车收费问题很多热议, city council不想肥水流进平民田,要控制私家的停车场, Cowboys的老板唯利是图,收取$40的停车费, 平民百姓怨声载道, 虽然市场经济大家一起往"钱"看, 但是多少背离了体育的初衷。
喜欢大学体育的原因不外乎：1. 这里没有那么多铜臭。许多球员放弃nba/nfl等高薪而留下来为母校出力。 2 球员更忠诚/ 职业球员转会是家常便饭，时常也身不由己。 3. 对自己母校的热爱。
这个周末开始，一年一度的College World Series又将在Omaha展开。
 大学生棒球比赛比起职棒大联盟水平差得很远，大学里面的优秀球员选秀之后还要在职棒的低级联赛里面锤炼几年，受到关注程度也很低（相对大学橄榄球/篮球）。这种感觉有点象日本高中棒球联赛，甲子园是所有球员的梦想；对这些大学棒球员来说，Omaha就相当于甲子园，或许还要难一点。 通往Omaha的道路是艰难的，64支队伍分成16组进行Regionals，每组四队， double elimination淘汰三支。剩下16支捉对厮杀，分成8个Super Regionals，排名靠前的队有主场优势，三场两胜制决出的胜者挺进College World Series。所以最后只有8支队能参加这个总决赛，总决赛也采取double elimination。
 去年LSU在分区比赛中顽强逆转，胜利进军Omaha，虽然在CWS战绩不佳，但积累了许多经验。
在今年3月初，LSU在各大排名中都是全国第一，“has the top-ranked baseball team in the nation according to every major poll. ” 但后来成绩有了些起伏。饶是如此，LSU赛季末10场连胜，晋级Omaha; 面对众多强敌，与不熟悉的对手碰面以及棒球本身巨大的偶然性，让我不敢抱什么期望。比赛分两组进行双淘汰, 分组和首场比赛如下：

It's important to be well-rounded, so all parts of the body should be trained. Trainers also encourage a balance of pushing exercises, which men favor, and pulling exercises.
3. Know your goal. Every one, every time, could be different.
Men don't like to ask for directions, whether they are on a road trip or a path to fitness. Some men not only stick to the workout they did when they were playing high school football 20 years ago, they expect it to work for everyone else.
It's funny, Heinrich said, when he sees a guy teaching the workout to his wife or girlfriend.
